Bermuda Grass in St. Augustine

Is there any way to get rid of Bermuda Grass growing in St. Augustine without just spraying round up on the areas with the Bermuda and then re-sodding. The Bermuda is quickly spreading through the yard and I don’t want to wait much longer before I take some kind of action.

Proper care is all you need.

1. Water deeply and infrequently.2. Mow at the highest setting on your mower.

Irrigated St Augustine in full sun will choke out all other grasses. If you let the St Aug dry out the bermuda will take over quickly.

I have the exact same problem…Bermuda comes up anywhere the St. A gets stressed. And every year there is more and more of it. I always use Scott’s Bonus S weed and feed and have been told that heavier applications of this will kill the Bermuda, but no luck. Any other ideas besides what has already been posted?

I’ve never seen StAug beat out bermuda. Bermuda wins every time. I had a StAug lawn in full sun and berumda took it over after only a few years.
