bentgrass question

I live in NJ and my soil is virtually all clay, the landscaper wants to put down 2 inches of topsoil with some sand mixed in and use what he describes as a landscape mix with several different types of grass, id like to use a penncross/bentgrass mixture and keep it mowed at about 1/2 to 3/4 inch first question is is this too long for bent? is there a better choice for these heights? i realize maintenance costs will be much higher but thats really a non issue.

Growing specific grass species has many key operational factors to be a succsses,

If cost is not an option inport good quality neuratal soil, ph of around 6 – 6.5, well drained, 8% organic matter.

The suurounding site should be open as possible to promote air movement

Bent grasses are heavily labour extensive especially on golf courses as they require a high number of operational practices.

I would srontgly suggest trying the new versions of dwarf rye grass these are easy to maintain have high tollarence to wear and are now avaialble to be cut down to the lenght you want

The grass is only as good as what it is grown in and what aftercare it gets.
