My St. Augustine lawn has turned a yellow/straw color. After closer inspection I noticed that the leaf blades are actually turning purple in some areas. This problem is not in patches- it is all over. I have an irrigation system. I just sent off some soil to get tested. There aren’t any lesions or spots on the leaf blade, they’re just turning color and dying. It did not respond to the last fertilizer app. Could it be bad pH?

See if this looks like it

If it is, you might try using ordinary corn meal at 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Or come spring I believe it will go away by itself.

The reason it did not respond to the last fert app is it is dormant this time of year. It should green up again in 2 months.
