I am currently having a problem stopping yellow wood sorrel (Oxalis) from taking over my slowly emerging Bermuda lawn. I contacted a representative at the local Lesco and he recommended a product called “Weed Whacker.” Has anyone ever used this product? Are there any non-commercial products that control Oxalis without damaging the actual turf? I did try Spectracide; the sorrel seemed to thrive on it!

any product with 24d in it- the lesco guy blew you off because you can’t buy his professional products without a license.

WOOD SORREL ( YELLOW OXALLIS) IS A VERY DIFFICULT WEED TO CONTROL. HOWEVER I DO NO AGREE WITH OTHERS VERSION OF A DISTRIBUTERS ABILITY TO SERVE YOU. YOU ARE NOT RESTRICTED FROM PURCHASE OF PRODUCTS LIKE QUICK SILVER FROM LESCO. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SPEEDZONE AVAILABLE IN CALIF. HOWEVER IT IS A SUPERIOR PRODUCT FOR ALL BROADLEAF WEED CONTROL. *** DO NO USE*** A SURFACTANT W/ SPEEDZONE AS THEW LABEL READS .75 – 1.5 OZ PER 1000 SQ FT COVERAGE FOR SEVERAL GRASSES. USE AT LOW RATES IN HIGHER TEMPS.. REMEMBER USE YOUR PRE-EMERGENTS WISELY. THIS WILL GREATLY REDUCE WEED SEED GERMINATION EACH IF USED IN A TIMELY MANNER
