I have an old Vigoro steel broadcast spreader (with the “T-style” handle and an open/close knob) made by Vigoro. It’s red with the cylinder hopper (hoping there may be someone else with this model…its a long shot!) It was given to my dad around 1976. It still works, so I’ve been using it on my yard for the past year and a half (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it). I cannot find any information about it. I would like to know how to determine which setting to put the spreader on in order to put X pounds of fertilizer down on the yard per 1k square feet. The thing is so old, that it isn’t listed on any of the fertilizer bags, and I cannot find any instructions for it. Any help on this antique is appreciated!

you’ll probably do better just doing your own calibration. mark off a section of driveway or street or parking lot or whatever and get a scale and calibrate it for 1000 sq. ft.- best way to do it. oh, and buy a new spreader.
