I have a SA/bermuda mix in my front lawn. I would prefer to have all bermuda. I thought that if I were to reseed with bermuda it would hopefully choke out the st. augustine. One: Will this work? Two: What would be the best variety of bermuda for the heat and the cold of Fort Worth TExas

Well I’m currently building a house in Midlothian, about 20 miles south of FT Worth and I’m planning on sodding with SA Palmetto.

Remember, Bermuda needs plently of sun so if you have trees then SA might be a better option.

SA usually requires that you mow high (3 inches) but with bermuda grasses, you can cut low (less than 2 inches), that would slow down SA grasses somewhat.

try Burmudagrass Yukon variety. It looked great on the paper. Check it out at http://www.bermudagrass.com/info/yukon.html. Supposedly one of the best cold tolerant burmudagrasses.

Tink-

I know. I haven’t seen a lot of things in stores that I saw online. www.seedland.com is where you can order Yukon seeds from. You can google it and look for the best price online. Good luck.
