I must have a common problem for folks with a new home and fill dirt spread out with St Augustine on top. Orange fill dirt thas a pH 3.5 and St Aug needs a pH 6.5. We are putting out lime, 3200 LB, to bring the pH up, But the other problem is fill dirt is so compact. You can’t drive a nail in it. We lime, cut it high and prey for earthworms to lossen and enrich the soil but that will take 20 years. Can anyone offer some help?
