Help,Located in central florida and my new St Aug (bitter blue) lawn is dying a death. The extension office only said that the grass had root rot and did not offer a solution to save the good bits that I have. I think some of it will come back but wonder if in the meantime I could use Bermuda seed on the brown (dead) areas to at least have a green lawn. My thought is that hopefully the good st aug I do have will eventually grow out and cover the bermuda. So…what do you think?

I have St. Aug. grass and I wouldn’t recommend mixing bermuda with St. Augustine. I don’t think they compliment each other very well. How about buying some St. Auggie sod at Lowe’s or similar place and re-sod small areas?
Not much that can be done about root rot. As I understand it, its associated with over-watering.

You’ll have a mix forever. Recommend not doing it. Call the local Lesco Dealer and ask if they have any suggested solutions.

I don’t think you’ll have a mix forever, I think you’ll likely wind up with all bermuda. Don’t mix unless you want all bermuda.
