My backyard is bermuda which is growing and spreading good except for underneath a couple of large trees.(the trees can’t be thinned out any more than they already are) Soil is sandy and well drained.

What would be the best grass to plant for the shady spots? It gets a few hours of sun in the morning but shade all afternoon.

I forgot…I live in hot, humid, N.W. Louisiana

Zoysia. St. Augustine may creep out into your bermuda.

According to “www.sodsolutions.com” they give a great overview and history of an apparently fantastic shade grass – Palmetto St. Augustine. But you may have to look around for it.
