This is a slide show of my St. Augustine here in San Antonio. They laid the sod back in March when it was almost all dormant. Now? Green at last.
Builder put down some pretty low grade top soil, but with some TLC, should make it through the summer.

Great show. Lawn looks great. If the builder put down low grade topsoil, the lawn does’nt show it! My only concern would be the fenced in areas. Seems awful tight. Not the ideal situation for turf as a ground cover: No Air Movement.
Did you have a soil test done on your soils?
Keep up the good work and lotsa luck through the summer………………….

thanks for the great pics- wish we could get more folks to provide pics like these… I’m a little concerned about the brown edges on the St. aug. near the sidewalk? pretty unusual for this to happen- any weed control, etc.? maybe it’s just dry. also wondering why in san antone you’re just now getting around to seeing green??? st. aug. usually greens up in March in Houston, and you’re further south! what’s up with the streaking in the front lawn? misapplication of fertilizer? or maybe runoff from a tree fert? otherwise looks good! make sure you water in the early morning only, cut back on fert. as we enter august, ( due to the brown patch disease season) mow with a sharp blade will help with fungus too. you’re in good shape, but with august and september coming you’ll have some issues with fungus, etc.
As far as the fencing/air movement deal goes, this type of landscape design is fairly typical for this type of product.
