I am new to this..I am currently building a house and my contractor is going to plant 70/30 St. Agustine grass. I live in South Texas..Is this good or bad? I do not know the first thing about the different types of grass available. Please help.

I work for a sod company and have never heard of that variety of St. Augustine. One of the best St. Augustines on the market right now is Delmar. Visit our website at turfgrassamerica.com and you can obtain information on a wide assortment of grasses.
Make sure you know what veriety he is installing! It could be common St. Augustine or another of the older varieties that are not as hearty as the newer ones.
Delmar provides one of the darkest green colors that you will find in St. Augustine.It is also more shade tolerant than most others. It will do fine in full sun as well.

Josh,I recently had Delmar sod laid in my new yard. I am not sure that I got what I ordered. How can I tell the differnce in Delmar and the other St. Augustine grasses?
