Hello,I have new fescue in certain areas of the lawn and they are approximately one year old. I notice the newer areas maintain a distinctly lighter shade of green than the more mature fescue. The yard is mostly clay and has been fertized based on the results from the local extension office. It’s been fairly warm and significantly more dry which I’m sure has affected the newer grass more but is there anything I can do to increase the darkness on the new grass? This probably seems trivial but there are large patches in the yard because I killed the bermuda that was there prior to this. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks,Kip

Hey Kip,
Your situation sounds exactly like mine! I’m about half way (hopefully) done with eradicating the bermuda grass that has infiltrated my tall fescue lawn. I’ve overseeded some areas and my new grass, like yours, is much light in color and seems to be a lot finer texture than the established grass. I’m hoping this is just because it is not yet mature, but we’ll see. If you find out from another source let me know!
