I live in zone 9 (central California) and we planted anual rye as a lawn until it warmed up enough to hydroseed. My lawn is yellowing in spots, why?kelly

Kelly, when you say your “lawn” is yellowing in spots, are you talking about a perennial grass that was there before you planted the annual ryegrass? What kind of grass is yellowing? Did anything unusual occur while the annual ryegrass was growing? What do the spots look like? (Diameter? Sharply defined and perfectly round, or sloppy and wavy margined? Is there a green center surrounded by a yellow ring? Is the outer edge (outside the yellow) extra green? If you visit the spots in the early morning when there might be some dew on the grass, do you notice any threads growing?)Phil
