YELLOW GRASS

I live in northern Utah. I am not sure what kind of grass we have, they said it is a mixture of seven kinds. It is purchased at any sod farm, Home Depot, etc. here in Utah. Anyway, I like to make it deep green and have used amonium sulfate. I get probelms with it turning my grass yellow or really light green in areas. The grass is very moist where it is yellow–ie, it is not yellow from being dead. What to do?

Apply ‘Ironite’……..and then make sure you use it every year(once a year) so the problem does not return. If your soil is low in organic matter, use an organic fertilizer once a year also. Don’t use Ammonium sulfate every time you fertilize!

Thanks! Yes, the soil is low in nutrients–it is clay. Is ironite a brand? Is it in Home Depot or would nurseries usually have it?
