I am after more information on Worldfeeder Bermuda. Is this Bermuda Grass?????? Bermuda Couch?????? Are these the same grass?????

I believe that Worldfeeder is a forage grass for livestock. You would probably be more well served to contact a livestock forage expert. Are wanting to know if you it is suitable to use as a turfgrass? It is a very course type bermuda and would not be a good turfgrass.

Hi Josh,
I have already been to the worldfeeder site and i have emailed them but still can get not further information. I am really interested in the grass but they seem not to be interested in me. It sounds like it would be well suited to our Australian conditions, but i cant find out if it is available.

Maria,
Are you wanting this grass for cattle or for a lawn. If you are wanting it for a lawn, maybe I could recomend a different type of grass. If you need it for cattle you might try the web page for the Experiment station(Tifton, GA) for the University of Georgia. They have develped severl outstanding forage grasses in recent years that are probably comparable to Worldfeeder.

Nix on the world feeder bermuda..tiff 85 also a bermuda is MUCH better…only down-side is marginal cold tolerance…developed and released in early 90’s ..with right conditions (fert./temp./water)have seen growth ~1 inch/day…steril,so it must be sprigged—-good luck–

I just located your site. Hope you can get a message to Maria Frazer. Agricultural Enterprises responded to her inquiry on March 27, 2001 by mailing a video packet to her. Since it was international there is the possiblity that she did not receive it. Because of her and other inquiries from Australia we began the guarantine requirements of the Australian government in 2001. We now have a representative in Australia that can answer inquiries about the progress of our grass products in Australia. Her Name is Lorraine Whiteman and if anyone has questions they can call Agricultural Enterprises at 1-800-918-7228. They can say they are in Australia and would like Mrs. Whiteman’s number.Agricultural Enterprises is the developer and exclusive distributor of World Feeder(R)bermuda grass. And by the way it does make a good turf. It has been used on sports fields and golf courses although our biggest market is for grazing and hay production. Our grasses are salt tolerant thus making them a good choice for Australia. Hope Ms. Frazer calls us again.

Just reread this forum discussion and thought I should also mention that Worldfeeder(R) is also not course but rather has a thin blade and is perferred by livestock. One customer stated that he had to reinforce fences to keep the cows off the Worldfeeder(R) when rotating to a field that was not planted in our grass. We had a person wanted to try our hay once so we sent her a bale. Her horses refused to eat other forage as long as the Worldfeeder(R) was on site. Even the field stubble and winter dormant stays soft and pliable.Like any living plant the better you treat it the better results. Our customers have found that Worldfeeder continues to amaze them.

I have carefully researched Worldfeeder bermuda – in truth, it is just an ordinary stock Bermuda. All the advertisement is just hype. The owners are religious fanatics and are using the money from this to fuel there religious organization. They believe (or want you to believe) that the grass is a gift from God. It is not for lawn use but for hay production or grazing. Look up the owners names and Worldfeeder on the Internet and you will learn more than you care to know. KWilliams

Thanks Kristin.
I now have this matter sorted.

What does religious affiliation have to do with whether or not World Feeder is appropriate for hay production or forage needs? I must have missed that post.
In fact, from what I’ve gathered World Feeder isn’t a standard Bermuda, but can boast not only extreme cold tolerance (once established) but salt tolerance and draught tolerance as well.
And the cows love it.
