When to spray again and what type of grass is this?

I own 21 acres and about 3-4 of it I consider my yard.

I just finished spraying the front yard (Second Pic above) and down the 1/4 driveway (First pic above) with Tri-Mec Southern to kill the broadleaves (dandilions, etc.) and still have to spray the backyard and the rest of the property.
I’ve been told to use 2,4D for my next application on the remainder of the property.
My question is: Considering it is May 24, 2005, is there a better time of the year (this year) for me to wait to spray, or should I go ahead and do it now?
Here’s the unsprayed backyard… http://img189.echo.cx/img189/4457/weeds018fp.jpg
Also, can someone tell me what type of grass I have in these photos http://img189.echo.cx/img189/7538/grasstype018zr.jpghttp://img189.echo.cx/img189/3994/grasstype028rf.jpg
and what’s the best way to get those bare spots to “fill in” with the grass I have and not more dandilions, clover, purple deadnettle and wild onion.
Thanks in advance.
Keith

well it certainly looks like fescue- where do you live? probably better off treating your lawn with a reseeding effort in the fall as opposed to all these chemical sprays- chemicals just deal with the problem, not the solution.

I live in Northwest Arkansas.
So you’re saying wait until maybe October… reseed… then spray.
How long after reseeding do you spray?
Thanks.
