i watered every day the first week, every other day the second and third until i got it down to twice a week (when they started to really take root). once the pieces of sod fill in i would take it down to once a week (what i have been doing since.
your zoysia will tell you when it needs water by rolling its leaves

it is not unusual. My Jamur did the same thing when I laid it down. This is a common characteristic of Zoysia grass. It grows and repairs very slowly, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I would give it a full growing season before it becomes completely established.

I put down my Empire in Oct. You can still see some areas where the sod has not grown in, even though it never drop below 40 here in south Florida. I like it so much better than St Augustine. I have been slowly putting down some compost on the spots that seem to dry up faster. That has helped a lot. I also put down some beneficial nematodes and some milky spore to control grubs. Good luck to you!!!
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
I am from the north and it has taken me five yrs to learn and undertand seville lawns. No 1…
