What “weed and feed”

I live in Orlando Florida. I have found several thing about Bermuda grass on the net, but I feel like none of the “rules” apply to me becasue they always talk about seasons. But we only have ONE season here…. the grass grows all year.

So I have a new Bermuda lawn that was put in with sod by a landscaper. Four months later it’s FULL of weeds. I can tell most of them are coming through the space between sod pieces. I paid my lawn maitance guy a bundle to pull them out, and they came back 1 month later.

What do I do?

My best guess is to put some “weed and feed” down. But what brand should I use? Is there one that’s made specifically for Bermuda. All the of the ones I found at my local Home epot said in big bold letters “Use Only on St. Augustine”. My guess would be that it would do something very bad to my Bermuda grass.

HELP!

I have never heard of a weed&feed that would hurt bermuda……but then again I live in the southwest, and Florida may have some products I am not aware of. Scotts weed&feed product is used on bermuda here in So Cal. …..so maybe give that one a try!

I just use Scott’s weed and feed or Lesco brand weed and feed.

I’ve switched entirely over to Lesco for my bermuda in the Charlotte, NC area.

Home Depot carries Lesco brand now.

If you’re yard isn’t too large, you might be able to get those weeds with some Ortho Weed-B-Gon for Lawns. Don’t use it on St. Augustine unless you use the St. Augustine version.

You might want to try the scott’s forums as well: http://forums.lawncare.com/forum
