I live in southern Louisiana and currently I have a St. Augestine lawn. I would like to seed in Bermuda. My Priorities are color, texture and density. My yard is full sun.I am leaning toward Blackjack or Paloma.Would either of these be a good choice? What would you recommend?

The types you mentioned are not as good as- ‘Yukon’, ‘Princess’, or ‘Riviera’. These types have greater density, are lower growing, and have the finest texture.

I to live in South Louisiana and in the process of installing backyard putting green with tifdwarf. I planted the remainder of the yard with princess 77 this weekend. Based on all I have read this seems to be the best. I will let you know how the princess performs when it comes up.

Close neighbors I live in Lafayette and work for Energy Logistics. My back yard is shara bermuda with some common mixed in. What I did was scalp the grass removed the thatch and hand tilled with tines. Spread the seed rolled then top dressed with a little sand.

Hey! I live near Lafayette too (Duson). Put down some sahara bermudagrass seed in January. I originally wanted princess 77 but they were sold out. It didn’t really started growing until it warmed up and I put down some fertilizer, but now it’s doing really well now. Dark dark green, low growing, and thick. In the month or so that it has been growing it’s almost covered my small yard.
