What is a good grass to grow in SE Missouri?

We have seeded and overseeded the last 3 1/2 years since building our new home. Our yard looks sick, more weeds than anything. It is usually getting pretty in parts of it by the end of May and then around the end of July or first part of August it looks bad, brown, barren, any of those b words. We recently purchased zoysia plugs, however aren’t holding our breath as far as the outcome. Does anyone know what a good grass is for this area? We have part of the back yard sodded, however the clover is taking that over now, how do we get rid of that too without killing the grass? As you can tell we are pretty new to establishing a yard, our homes have always had established laws.

you’re fighting it too much- get tall fescue- soil test and fert. and water it correctly and it’ll do fine- mow it very tall as well- call mark with accugrow in cape girardeau
