What grass SEED mixes well with Floratam?

I have Floratam sod in the front yard. What grass seed should I use in the back, considering that 1) the back lawn will ultimately mix with the Floratam and 2) a common herbicide weed killer will have to be used at some point. Thanks.JeffWest Palm Beach, FL

Jeff, you did not distinguish the environment or the lawn requirement in the back yard, compared with the front yard. However, if your backyard is somewhat more shady, you might consider either Seville or Palmetto St. Augustinegrass. That keeps the transition problem to a minimum, and all areas can be treated with a Weed-and-Feed type of fertilizer with the herbicide atrazine, carefully and as needed, of course.
