Weed kill before new lawn installation

Will keep this short and sweet. New home construction, hired landscape bozo in May – he skipped out on us and we are now growing healthy weeds. Have been told conflicting stories about what to use to kill the weeds prior to having the yard rockhounded/seeded/mulched. The game plan is Roundup, lime, seed, but we’ve been told that using Roundup will affect the seed germination. Any thoughts on this Ohio debacle? Thanks….

roundup will not, in any way, affect seed germination. you absolutely need to soil test before applying lime-you might need other nutrients as well.- you might want to wait a couple of weeks depending upon temps.
