uneven, lots of weeds, moss and bald patches

Hello, i have recently moved into a new house and the garden needs some serious work I know its going to be hard work the problem is i have no idea where to start. I have never had a garden before but i have looked on the internet and know that the lawn needs leveling off, weed and moss killing and seed putting down but in which order do i do that? Sorry for asking silly questions
