TROPICAL ZOYSIA IDENTIFICATION

I recently purchased some sod and I am trying to learn more about it. Problem is I don’t know what kind of sod I bought. I bought the sod from a farm in Hawaii. They had Emerald Zoysia(blade looked thin) and El Toro Zoysia(blade looked wide). The stuff I bought was a Zoysia, but she didn’t know what kind. She called it ‘Link’ and the blade looked in-between the width of the El Toro and the Emerald. Do you think you might know what I bought? Thanks! NC

Hi Niko,There are a couple of other varieties of Zoysia japonica – ‘Victoria’ and ‘DeAnza’. There is also Zoysia tenuifolia. You could do a google search for more info on them. Take a look here.http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/TOOLS/TURF/TURFSPECIES/zoysia.html
Hope this helps,Newt
