I live in Altadena, Ca. and we are relandscaping our yard. My husband is insisting on tiffgreen for lawn: I think it willm be labor intensive and go brown in winter…is this true? I have not sen this type of grass, unless on a golf course green. Is it practicle?

Tifgreen is the most versatile hybrid, and can handle higher cutting heights if you choose. It should however be cut shorter in the fall to lesson the thick mat that devolps during the summer. It will go completely dormant for 3 months in inland valley areas……but you can over seed with rye in the fall- for year around green.
