St.Augustine Seeding?

Our St.Augustine isn’t thick and long like it should be. The builder didn’t put much top soil (2 Years Old) and the sod had a weed in it called torpedo grass. Should we seed with St.Augustine seed – if there is such a thing? – to make it thicker…. Any suggestions out there??

you can’t seed it- fertilize and water properly or resod bad sections if necessary

St. Augustine is not grown from seed in most cases. you must buy sod or plugs. You can dethatch and aerate the lawn during summer to improve health, but it is a slow process. If you have bare spots, break up the soil to encourage the St. Aug runners to fill in the area.
