St. Augustine brown spots?

I have noticed that the blades have little brown spots on them. And that the sections of my yard that have the spots the color of the grass alternates from dk green to light-yellow-green. I know for certain it is not water, I live in N. Florida rain, rain, and rain. What could possibly cause this?

fungus- need to use a fungicide and cut back ( if you can) on the watering. mow with a sharp blade. don’t use fertilizer.

Dont know if this helps but I had this problem last year at this time too.
I didnt add anything but cutting back on watering. This spring as it came back, no more spots on the grass.
Maybe I got it in time, who knows. It wasnt badly spread either, just in a few areas.
