I am in the process of planting 8′ pine trees along property line. I notice when I did a “dry” run of my underground sprinklers, the water stream will directly hit the trees, regardless of location Is that OK or will it harm the trees?

Pinecone, there are multiple potential problems with a water stream hitting pine tree trunks, such as staining, physical damage to bark, fungus disease, algae, and what the water may do to the root zone of the pine trees. For example, in Florida the slash pine is sensitive to the high soil pH that occurs from “liming” with high-Calcium ground water and this results in micronutrient deficiencies.
