Spittle Bugs

I’ve noticed several spittle bugs on centipede grass and it’s only May. I thought spittle bugs were a summer pest. Should I spray for them now or wait until I see a lot of bugs?

Noticed that too.Last year I had a hudge invasion of these late summer. The adult forms were next to imposissible to eradicate. Perhaps would be wise to kill them in a larve stage. Don’t know for sure, need to read up on the life cycle.
