Roundup on Dormant Grass

My St. Augustine grass is full of weeds, and I was told that I could spray Roundup on it now and kill the weeds, but not the grass as it is dormant. Is this correct?

roundup is not labeled for dormant st. augustine.

just spray it w/atrazine.
