Riviera Bermuda vs Sahara Bermuda

I’ve been thinking about seeding my yard with Riviera Bermuda seed. In the past I’ve had a fescue lawn. I have always had to fight to keep out an old variety of Bermuda grass. I have a large yard it’s over an acre. I like the manicured look of the golf greens. I’m also hoping to use half the water of fescue. I live in an area of Southern California that freezes. I only get snow for about 1-2 days. I’m looking at Riviera because it’s suppose to stay greener longer in the fall and green up sooner in the spring. All the local hardware stores have Sahara for $20 for 5 lbs. I can only find Riviera for $20 per lb. on-line. My question is, is there really a noticeable difference between the two? I don’t want to waist money. However I do want to keep it around 1/2- 1 inch tall to get the golf green look. Any suggestions?

You need the Yukon variety of Bermudagrass. It’s the most cold tolerant of them all.
