How do you get rid of chinch bugs? Took a soup can test and found some. They’re eating up my St. Augustine.

I assume you have 25 chinchbugs per square foot? These are complex little creatures. Piercing-sucking mouthparts where they feed on the stems and crown. they lay eggs under the leaf sheaths, thatch,or soil.nymphs emerge from the eggs after 7 to 10 days. Depending on temps one to five generations may develop in a year.Your best bet is to contact your local county extension for the best remedy and specific insecticide recommendations.
