I live in Central Fla.I have a front yard with two large oaks and lots of shade. Should I resod with Seville or Floratam

Seville. Floratam doesn’t grow in shade. Consider making wide mulched areas around the trunks. This will reduce the amount of sod you must buy, and eliminate the shadiest part of the area around the tree from being sodded in the first place. More importantly, it will benefit the tree, by reducing the oppurtunity for mower damage to its roots and trunk, and eliminate competition for water and nutrients from grass. And whatever you do, don’t go hacking on your tree in the name of recapturing some daylight time for the grass. Trees are far more valuable than a few hundred square feet of grass, both aesthetically and monetarily.
