renovating baseball/football field

I am the A>D> at a small school near Birmingham AL. We have limited resources and our field has not been taken care of properly. The current “turf” is what I call a mixture of weeds and grass. Iam planning on using something to kill off the current grass and seed it with a bermuda turf seed. there are several on the market and it is hard to choose the correct one. We will install an irrigation system in May and plan on planting soon after. If I had to buy today we would get the Scotts blend bermuda, because of the availability and cost. Can you please advise on this plan our do you know a better idea.

sounds like a reasonable plan. might want to check into a higher quality grass seed. try calling your local Lesco service center. you would want to use roundup to renovate the fields. also plan on overseeding with rye in the cooler winter months.
