Recently cut down pine trees need help

I live in the Southwestern part of PA. In december when it was cold i had 3-25′ pines cut down in my front yard. The tree cutting people told me to put lime down on the area. I just did it the other day, not that i am looking for instant results. But i laid like a 40lbs bag of finely crushed lime on top of the surface and about 20lbs of pellets. they did leave wood chips in the recessed area that they grinded the stumps down
1.) should i remove the wood chip and put lime directly on the area the trunk was and replace with soil?
2.) how long does it generally take to regain ph levels to plant grass again on the surface?
any information would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!

Your going to need a least 6 inches of soil in that area. Remove the chips, and use them around shrubs and tree wells. Get a soil test kit to check your ph in various different spots around your yard. Apply lime as indicated by the test results.
