Palisades Zoysia – will Bermuda be a problem

I (4 wks ago) sodded a yard with Palisades. It is doing well. My concern is that the vacant lot next to me is overrun with Bermuda. So far no weeds or grass in my yard (excluding the weeds and grass coming up in my well mulched flower beds). Will Bermuda invade the Palisades?

Yes it will eventually, I have empire zoysia and the vacant lot next to mine is also over run by burmuda also. You might want to put down some kind of border between you lot and the vacant lot before its too late. Once the burmuda take over, its run like wild fire. Good luck and hopes this helps.

Thanks for the relies, will keep the chemical and border idea – may yet need them. I changed the cutting height from 1 1/2 inches to 2 1/2 inches. Then got down on hands and knees and spent a few afternoons going through the yard (~3000 sq/ft) removing the Bermuda by hand then fertilizing (including preemergent). That was almost a month ago. I am now hard pressed to find any Bermuda. The Palisades is invading the vacant lot with Bermuda (moved in ~1 ft in areas displacing the wild grass and Bermuda).
Now if only the grass would not die when a dog urinates on it (not every time) and would grow in the shade.
