new plated grass turing brown

i have just planted some grass about two weeks ago and it came up fine and was nice and green and now it is turing brown it looks like it is on it’s last leg, i was thinking maybe i plated to much in the same spot and it is chokeing it?? i water like i should can anyone help me i dont know what kind of grass it is all i know is that this really sucks
