My St. Augustine?

Hi All. Please help if you can with my question:I just moved into a house with a St. Aug lawn. How can I tell what variety the grass is? I need to know because many chemicals seem to say “Do not use on Floratam” variety of St. Aug! I live in South FL. Thanks.

Not sure you can tell by looking. There are three (three that I know of)semi-dwarf cultivars: Delmar, Jade, and Seville. You might get a clue by letting grass go un-mowed for a couple of weeks and see if it stops at 3 or 4 inches.
Best bet is to contact County Extension agent or Master Gardner in your area and seek advice. I’ll help you find both if you’ll give me your State and County.
