mix bermuda ans st augustine

we just bought a house the back yard is 50% bermuda and 50% dirt in the more shaded areas. can i sod or plug st augustine in the dirt areas. and will it eventually take over the bermuda

sorry, I live in Fort Worth, TX. The back yard is shaded.

With shade the back yard will easily be taken over by the St Augustine.
