Had some new St. Augustine sod put downabout 2 weeks ago. I have been keepingit moist by watering at 6am each day.
Problem is, that zone also has old grassit looks like it may be getting fungus. So, I’m wondering how soon I can throttleback the watering on the new sod to treatit like established turf.
I heard 3 weeks somewhere, but the articleson this site recommended longer.
I’m going to hit the older turf withfungicide, but still, I’d like to stopkeeping it wet.

Have you tried to pull up a couple of corners to see if its anchored down yet?
I always used the wilt & water test for new sod. If it looked like it was starting to wilt, I would hand water small areas and then wait until it began to look dry again. It always took no more than about 2 weeks before St Augustine took root, but that is in the heat of summer.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
