Found a product from Green Light, called Wipe-Out. It is a season long weed killer with the active herbicide being: LockUp or Penoxsulam

Has anyone used this selective weed killer? If so what kind of success have you had? It is labeled to suppress or stop Sedge, which might be of some value here on this board.

You can see it here:http://www.greenlightco.com/products/wipeouttoughweedkillerforlawns/index.cfm

At Home Depot, I just purchased Lesco penoxsulam 17-0-7 for St Augustine grass. I have yet to put it out but I have plenty of sedge, dollarweed, and St Augustine for it to touch. Finding firsthand experiences with penoxsulam via Google is pretty difficult … it is a relatively new chemical without many homeowner stories. One supposed advantage of it over atrazine is that it is supposed to be OK to use in the hot summer months.

Lock up will not take care of any nutsedge issues.

For control of nutsedge, you will have to look for a product containing Halosulfuron , aka Pro Sedge, Sedge Hammer, Manage, etc.

Also, nutsedge cannot be controlled pre-emergence. You have to attack nutsedge once it has emerged.
