leveling the grass

I have recently had my yard landscaped and we used Zeon Zoysia. Unfortunately, the grass was delivered the night before a major rain and we lost topsoil. Due to the moisture we could not get a Bobcat out to level so the landscaper had the workers do what they could by hand. Unfortunatley it is not very level and has low spots. Since it is new, can I simply lift the grass and use sand to level it. I like the paver sand because it is easy to work with but will the grass grow fine over time?

This is what I know…. (thought I would reply to your question… I’m still waiting for a reply on my post, but possibly no one knows anything to help me… hehehe)
“Use round-particle sand such as dune, beach, or silica sand, which will not compact under pressure. Avoid crushed coral or cement sand, whose irregular shapes pack together under pressure, interfering with air and water movement to the turfgrass roots.”
This is quoted straight from these handouts that the place I bought my grass (here in Hawaii) give to their customers.
Hope it helps…. as far as paver sand, I don’t know exactly if it is closer to silica sand or cement sand…
