I was give a patch of Salam Sod from Southern Turf Nurseries (http://www.southernturf.com/turf.htm), has any one ever used this grass? Info provided is Paspalum Vaginatum, fine leaf variety, dark green color, creeping growth habit, fast growing. Golf fairways and tees, athletic fields, parks, lawns, horse tracks. Tropical, prefers soils and irrigation with high salt.

Cecil,
Salam is a good grass, but Sea Isle 1 has proven to perform much better in recent years. It is the newest variety of Seashore Paspalum on the market. Its initial target was golf courses, but it has done very well on sports fields as well as home lawns. We recently installed Sea Isle 1 on Enron field in Houston, TX and it looks great. We have a link on our website that will help provide you with better information on this grass at turfgrassamerica.com. If we can be of any assistance in providing you with this grass feel free to contact any of our retail facilities that are listed on the web page.
thanks,josh
