Help with new lawn

I laid some st augustine last week and wanted to know what is the proper way to water new sod. BTW, I live in Carrollton.
I watered the sod for about an hour after it was laid and for about 30 minutes everyday after. Is this enough? I’ve been reading around and am thinking this is not enough. Thanks in advance for the help!

WateringGive your new lawn at least 2 to 3 cm (1 in.) of water within 1/2 hour of installation. Water daily, or more often, keeping turf moist until it is firmly rooted (about 2 weeks). Then less frequent and deeper watering should begin.
Weather conditions will dictate the amount and frequency of watering. Be certain that your new lawn has enough moisture to survive hot, dry, or windy periods. Water areas near buildings more often where reflected heat dries the turf (also see watering tips in our research section).
