help new sod

we have layed new sod in the high desert in california and it’s 90% tall fescue and 10% bluegrass it’s been only 4 day’s and it’s almost all yellow brown in color not sure if anyone has any help to try save my sod please help any help!!!!!!!!!! we did’nt water it the first day after laying could this be the only reason have water a lot everyday forward.

Missing first day of watering didn’t help, but I don’t believe it caused your problem. I suspect sod/soil not making good contact. After 4 days you should begin seeing roots extending from the sod into the soil. If not you might rolled the sod (couple hundred pounds of water in a walk behind roller) and keep watering.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
