help for perennial ryegrass sportfield

I’ve a sandbase sport field in Genoa, Italy, and I need the just rate of Fe for foliar application. Someone can help me?

Sergio, here’s a starting point:

0.2 grams per square meter elemental Fe (iron) which is about 0.04 pounds per thousand square feet.

That should not cause serious injury on most species of turfgrass. (But depending on how it is applied, there may be temporary, a few days, blackening of leaf tips.)

For example, typical ferrous sulfate is 19-20% elemental Fe, depending on purity. So if that were your source, it would require 10.5 kg per hectare or 9 pounds per acre of ferrous sulfate or iron sulfate.

This FeSO4 compound is hydrated with 7 water molecules, so you cannot calculate the elemental Fe just based on FeSO4.

If you use liquid or chelate or some other source, 0.2 grams Fe per square meter is still a reasonable starting point.
