I live on a barrier island called Dauphin Island Alabama. This is about 30 miles South of Mobile Alabama. I have sea oats and sand. I also am on an canal and face the Gulf of Mexico. My drive way seems to be a natural cut thru which floods when a storm comes. my driveway is sand and shells with a big erosion problem..Plz recommend grass types for sand, so I might establish a root system that will slow the flow of water down and help save my driveway. I am a first time user but have a major problem.

Consider Seashore Paspalum. It has good root system and is tolerant of salt water. Here is some University of Florida literature.
