Gray spot, recovered but…..

Back in May it was getting really hot and the yard was just starting to fill in, I was watering every day for short periods. In June it has rained every day and 2 weeks ago I got gray spot. I hit it with Scotts and it has or is going away. it was all over the yard! Thing is that groth is coming back looking good but my lawn is thin and the lush green I once had is gone. Now that it has recovered what can I put down to get back my LUSH grass back?

Don’t water every day. Water 1 or 2 times a week for a long period of time. Constant moisture on the surface makes the lawn suspectible to fungus, among other things.

I get that, just wondering if I should hit it with lime or Iron to get it coming back. I looked 3 houses down and everyone has it. Just not me so I am thinking it is all the rain we have had. Lime, iron?

If you think you need lime, then get a soil test first . . . lime will relieve acidity and allow more nutrients t oget to the plants.

Not sure about the iron. . . what type of grass is it?

I have read recently that even chemical fertilizers need bacteria in the ground to process the fertilizer. If you used an antifungus agent, then your bacteria level should be really low. I just spread 98 cents a bag(hd) manure/compost blend thinly across my lawn(berm) and it seems to like it. I think that is probably the problem. You’ve got plenty of food in the soil but no digestive system to process it. hope this helps.ein

I agree, thats why you need to balance your fertilizer program with Organic fertilizers. They may not be available to the plant for a while but they will be there eventually.

Feed the soil, not only the plant…..
