Grass type?

What type of grass seed or sod should I be looking at to purchase? I live in the southeast corner of Oklahoma. My frontyard is mostly shade and the backyard is mostly sun. There is an area of St. Augustine in the backyard that I really like. The rest of the yard is a mix of fescues, bermuda and some type of junk grass.
Thanks.

go with 419 bermuda where you have the most sun ,

Its kind of late to establish warm season grasses,(such as St.Augustine and 419), but you can start the process of killng off undesirable grass now- so that you will be ready for planting by spring. You will need two applications of ’round up’ to get a good kill! One application now, and another in the spring. When everything turns brown after the first spray, you can plant a temporary cover of annual rye, so that you will have some green for the winter. Don’t make the second application until April. At that point spray again,(killing off the rye and whatever comes up that wasn’t killed by the first spray). St. Augustine does good in sun or shade, but if you want to go the less expensive route, go with St.Augustine for the shady areas-and seed the sunny areas with one of the newer bermuda types,(such as Riviera or Yukon).

FYI — There is Riviera avaialable now at Parizek Bros. in Yukon,OK so you can plant either seed or sod Riviera in the Oklahoma area. If you are interested I will get you a number to call.
