Grass ?s for Florida

Hello all, we recently purchased a house in Fort walton beach Fla. The yard is pretty sandy,previously covered in pine straw so there is NO grass! I finally finished tilling the entire yard and need help to decide the best seed or sod. Will seed even grow in a sandy soil? Please help !
